Frosted bulbs. Home on jagged peaks and rugged coast. Flower from snowmelt.
Glory of the snow got its name from a Swiss botanist who witnessed it blooming during snowfall. They come from the slopes of western Turkey, a region known for its steep and forested terrain. Dormant most of the year, after flowering, they disappear until next spring. As one of the earliest blooms, they provide nectar and pollen for bees. Glory of the snow serves as a vital feast for biodiversity and an important ingredient to nature’s ebs and flows.
